National Bsl Day 2024. 28 april 2023 on 28 april 2022, the british sign language (bsl) act was passed by the uk parliament, recognising bsl as an indigenous language of great britain. The british deaf association (bda) has announced that april 28 has been selected as national bsl day.

The campaign aims to celebrate and educate about bsl and isl, to encourage more people to start learning it and preserve bsl and isl for future generations. Scotland will have its own celebrations on 17 september to mark the passage of the bsl (scotland) act 2015 and 22 october to mark the royal assent of that act.
